About Our Practice

Founded in 1987 by Dr. Laura Nunno, Holistic Health Center has proudly served the Cromwell community for nearly 40 years with a holistic approach to health and wellness. The practice was built on the belief that true healing comes from treating the whole person — mind, body, and overall well-being — rather than simply addressing symptoms.

Dr. Nunno’s path into chiropractic care began early in her healthcare career while working as a neurological and intensive care nurse. Although she valued her nursing experience, she felt there had to be a more preventative, whole-body approach to helping people achieve lasting health. That search led her to chiropractic and holistic medicine.

Originally graduating in Gainesville, Florida with degrees in Arts and Nursing, Dr. Nunno continued working as a nurse while putting herself through chiropractic school. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1986 and founded Holistic Health Center the following year. In 1997, she received her DICCP (Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics) from Palmer Chiropractic College, reflecting her advanced training in pediatric and family chiropractic care.

In addition to her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and inactive nursing license, Dr. Nunno has completed advanced education and post-doctoral training in pregnancy and pediatric care, including the Webster Technique, newborn cranial care, and post-frenectomy bodywork. Her care combines a variety of chiropractic techniques with craniosacral therapy, kinesiology, nutritional guidance, and Standard Process supplementation to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient.
